I've been a Sex Worker since 2019. The adult entertainment industry is a vast and diverse place, and I have learned how to leverage opportunities and learn from these experiences. In 2022, I was blessed with an abundance of work which brought its challenges of compassion fatigue, isolation, romantic hardship, limiting beliefs, and more.
Although I found purpose in my work, I faced issues directly related to the jobs within our industry. I found it difficult to access resources catering to our unique population and the challenges that come with it, and I was sure that other Sex Workers were facing some of these same struggles as well.
Whether your concern is with motivation, stigma, confidence, censorship, or safety, the obstacles that we face can seem insurmountable. We often work without a boss, leaving us to be our sole motivators. We are always looking out for others, listening to the problems of our clients & fulfilling their fantasies but rarely have a place to vent, and talk about our boundaries, our goals, and those things that make us human beyond our jobs.
When I would talk to people in my life about work, although they are supportive, it still felt like it was met with eye rolls and an attitude of “Yes, but you’re rolling in the $$, you chose this life,” and so on. But I wasn’t always rolling in it, and anyone in this industry knows it comes and goes! There will be slow periods. There will be highs, and there will be lows. You may be relying heavily on one income and then suddenly lose a client or revenue stream. And if you’re used to a certain lifestyle, that can be scary! So, I found myself developing tactics and strategies to get myself through those moments of uncertainty. I started working on self-care, setting boundaries, and being mindful of my energy and emotional bandwidth. Without even realizing it — I was on a journey towards purpose. Eventually, the self-care and mindfulness evolved into abundance rituals, balancing meditations, and protecting my energy. I had already started taking steps to make my life better, and I wanted to support others to do the same. I decided to explore avenues to not only help myself but also my community through life coaching.
I believe that my purpose in life is to hold space & help others achieve their dreams. I want to know what your purpose is, and how to best help you achieve your dreams!
xx,
Ashe, Life Coach & Sex Worker
